This braking unit is an option for variable speed drives of Altivar range. The minimum resistor value to associate is 0.7Ohm. This braking unit allows Altivar 71 drives to operate while braking to a standstill or during “generator” operation, by dissipating the energy in the braking resistor. Its protection index is IP20. Thermal protection is provided by an integrated temperature probe. It weighs 80kg.
